Tonight the Sounds continue their eight-game road trip as they open a four-game series in New Orleans. Michael Blazek (1-4, 4.15) takes on Anthony DeSclafani (2-2, 3.24), and the first pitch on 102.5 The Game is set for 6 p.m.
Tonight’s interview is with “Mr. New Orleans” Tim Grubbs, the radio broadcaster for the New Orleans Zephyrs. The Sounds haven’t seen the Zephyrs since late June, so Grubbs describes how the Z’s have been playing, the Marlins-Astros trade at the July 31 deadline that moved outfielder Austin Wates from Oklahoma City (HOU) to New Orleans (MIA), the job done by first-year Zephyrs manager, MTSU alum and Columbia, Tenn., resident Andy Haines, and Grubbs’ “Last Cheer at Greer” memories, including a 24-inning game between the Sounds and Z’s back in ’06.
