First off, here is a belated opportunity for you to hear Sounds manager Mike Guerrero on my pregame show last night. Normally I’m better about posting the audio the day of the respective game, but for now I’m going to use the “hey, it was Opening Night” excuse.
And now some links for you to recap a fun (albeit wet and cold) night last night. As I said on the air, though, I’ll take a cold, damp opener over having to start the season with a doubleheader any day!
- The Tennessean’s coverage (of the game)
- The Tennessean’s coverage (with comments from Sounds owner Frank Ward)
- Fox 17’s coverage
- News Channel 5’s coverage
- MiLB.com’s coverage (with comments from Hunter Morris)
- NashvilleSounds.com’s coverage
Based on questions from email and Twitter, here’s a reminder of our broadcast set-up, which is pretty much identical to last season…
The Sounds air on 102.5 “The Game” every game (including tonight, Saturday and Sunday) except when the Nashville Predators are playing hockey at the same time or when the Sounds have a mid-week day game. When there is Predators hockey, the Sounds are on 102.1 “The Light.” When there is a mid-week day game (excluding a holiday like Memorial Day), the Sounds air on nashvillesounds.com, and there also is a plan in the works to air mid-week day games (the first one is April 15 at Omaha) on Sports Radio 830-AM, a sister station of 102.5 The Game. For listening online, this link will always direct you to the right place.
Thanks for listening! (On the Air…and Off)
